We were fortunate to be invited to landscape this beautiful home in Kissing Camels. The contemporary architecture is stunning.
One tenet of landscape design is to embrace the architecture of the home, and continue the landscape as a natural extension of the living space. One of the challenges of this project was to provide more functional living space in the back yard, as well as provide some sense of definition from the adjacent golf course.
We were able to solve this by incorporating the natural stone on the home in masonry retaining walls, designed in a rectilinear fashion. This created the desired level space, while tying in to the architecture of the home seamlessly. Once this space was created, we were able to add a putting practice area, walkways, and plantings to enhance and define the space. A well-designed lighting system provides security and beauty to the landscape.
